Selective Service Registration

Selective Service Registration

Register for Selective Service or check the status of your registration.

Many federal and Ohio job-training programs require men between the ages of 18 and 26 to register for the federal Selective Service system. In addition, the Ohio Revised Code requires male students who are between the ages of 18 and 26 and live in Ohio to register for the Selective Service. Selective Service registration also is often a requirement for U.S. citizenship and federal government employment.

To find out if you are required to register for Selective Service, visit sss.gov. You can register or verify your registration from this web page. If you verify your registration, you can access your registration number and date of registration. You also can print a copy of your registration card, which can be used as proof of your registration.
